Inaugural post

This is my first post about the restoration of a 1965 Ford Mustang coupe. This story begins in 1965 on a Ford lot in Chicago, IL, where my mom bought this classic car new. It took her to Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri, Virginia and finally back to Kentucky where it was sold for $1000 in 1982 to a man in Cadiz. Eighteen years and a new engine later, my father placed a call to the same man, who despite many offers for quite a bit more money, agreed to sell it back to us for the same amount he bought it. Talk about a deal. That weekend we loaded up in the suburban of Dr. Davis', a friend of my father and vehicle restoration guru, and headed out to pick up our project car. Our one owner project car. That's right, the man we sold it to and bought it back from never changed the title over. We have a 1 owner 1965 Mustang, that my father, myself and a few of our friends are hopefully going to bring back to life.

There has been quite a bit of work done to it already. It is almost completely broken down. The engine and tranny are out, thanks to the strong arms of Stu and Travis (no cherry picker needed). The doors and interior are in the basement and the fenders and backseat are in the attic. All of the little parts and gizmos are meticulously labeled and packed away for (hopefully) salvation and reuse. Soon the car body will make its way to the new garage and the real work will start. I'll keep you as up to date as possible with pictures and anecdotes. A lot of blood and sweat have gone in to reviving this classic already and there will be plenty more to come. For now though, you'll have to be satisfied with these introductory videos.
